This course is also a great refresher for yoga instructors who have been out of practice. Try this, and your body will thank you. Aim: The Yoga Foundations course provides a comprehensive understanding of yoga principles, techniques, and philosophy, helping participants cultivate physical strength, mental clarity, and emotional well-being. Objectives: • Introduce the fundamental principles and history of yoga. • Explore yoga asanas and pranayama for physical health. • Understand yoga philosophy and its daily applications. • Cultivate mindfulness through meditation. • Foster a supportive community of practitioners. Course Structure: Duration: One month (40 hours) Course Overview: Week 1-2: Establishing the Basics • Yoga philosophy and history • Foundational asanas and alignment • Pranayama techniques • Relaxation and stress management Week 3-4: Deepening the Practice • Advanced asanas • Enhanced pranayama practice •Yoga sutras and mindfulness • Meditation practice Theory Units: • Yoga Fundamentals: • Principles, Sukshma Vyayama, Surya Namaskar, Shatkarma • Understanding Yogasana: • Classification, sequencing, health benefits • Pranayama and Meditation: Breathing, Bandha, Mudra techniques Integrating Yoga into Daily Life: •Wellness concepts, diet, lifestyle, Yama, Niyama Practicals: •Yogic Sukshma and Sthool Vyayama •Shat-karma • Yogasana Postures: Standing, sitting, prone, supine • Pranayama: Various breathing exercises • Mudra and Meditation Practices Participants are encouraged to dedicate an additional hour daily for personal practice to enhance their learning and experience.
